What this tour is about: If you're an early riser, you'll love this morning tour of Jaipur and its surroundings.
Tour Details: We will begin our tour at Muhana Mandi, a large wholesale vegetable market about 30minutes drive from the city. In the mornings, the market is buzzing with activity as farmers from small villages arrive with their produce. We will also visit an interesting fodder market at Sanganer, where farmers come to buy grass for cattle, and local gwalans (women herders) bring their cows to be fed.
Next, we will stop by the bustling doodh-mandi, where milk arrives in traditional cans, and is quickly snapped up by neighbourhood doodhwallas (milkmen) and confectionery shops.
Finally we come to the Pink City, where we will drive through the sleepy streets to have tea/snacks at a popular local eatery. If you want to photograph some of the famous buildings in the Pink City, this is a great time to do so, without the usual crazy rush of traffic.
After a quick look at the flower market, we will visit the last stop on our tour: the Govind Devji Temple. This is Jaipur’s most beloved shrine to Lord Krishna, and the group singing and chanting of the morning aarati is lovely to watch.
